Of course it's absurd for a person to argue that life is precious when that same person is in favor of weapons of mass destruction, the murder of abortion clinic staffs, the death penalty, a presidential candidate who regurgitates the philosophy and policies of the mass murderer Adolph Hitler, hawkish leaders, ignoring the plight of homeless people who suffer and die due to their condition, and a religion whose god advocates murdering nonbelievers. And the icing on the cake is that these same people are, de facto, in favor of allowing a pregnant mother to die or suffer in childbirth. So we have to dig deeper than hollow words to figure out where this conflict originates inside of human beings.
We see this type of duplicitousness across the board regardless of political persuasion. We are currently witnessing this in Israel where innocent Arabs are suffering and dying at the hands of the Israeli government that is supposed to be egalitarian, democratic, and moral. At the same time we are witnessing terrorist groups like Hamas (and their protesting supporters) decrying violence, genocide, and persecution while using their fellow Arab brethren as human shields, preventing humanitarian aide, calling for the murder of all Jews (ethnic cleansing and genocide), and holding hostages who are the remaining lot of human beings whom they butchered, raped, tortured, and murdered.
In both the right and left we are observing fear in action, and fear always arises out of individual conflict. And fear is immune to logic, historical precedence, the law, and idealistic hopes and measures supporting equality, fairness, ethics, and morality. The confusing, paradoxic thing is that everyone shares a common hope, which is to be happy. But fear both causes and prevents happiness.
So the question, apropos to your article, is what do anti-abortion advocates fear the most that causes them to be so opposed to murder that they themselves become murderous?
