Yes, Donald Trump is a troubled individual, perhaps a sociopath (which seems likely given the testimony of those closest to him). But the biggest problem seems to be the fact that people want to support him, including the media that hang on his every divisive, racist, unintelligible, damaging, antiAmerican, hateful, uneducated, uninformed statements. This media is both right and left, and they promote his every outlandish words and actions as part of a fixation and diversion.

Trump has a big base, not only among the uneducated, racist, and easily manipulated, but perhaps more importantly, among the rich and powerful who use him as a tool to keep their power and further their own agendas.

We can complain about Trump and his obvious pathology until the cows come home, but unless we address the underlying issues that make him potent then we're just spinning our wheels and ignoring the elephant in the room.
