This is a reiteration of my comment on this issue...
Medium's excuse is somehow not surprising. It's like when you call customer service of any big company and they offer you rote answers, such as, "I'm sorry you are having problems. How can I help you?" But no one is really sorry except for you and your writers whose works were completely invalidated by Medium's response: "...those earning low income were producing low-quality or AI-generated content..." This comment is so problematic that it beggars the mind where to begin.
By not paying people, Medium has created a big and greedy platform with lots of opportunity to use all the information they garner to help them make money in myriad ways. Even if they fix this supposed glitch they will have realized a tremendous windfall from all the money they saved by not paying writers in the interim. This amounts to a big scam if you want to think of it this way. If you want to see it as a glitch then that's your right as well. However, the fact that I quickly went from a few dollars income per month up to more than a thousand in four months tells me that people were reading my articles and liked what I was writing. That's democracy in action. But not paying people...well, that's the dark side of capitalism.
I am a bestselling author on the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon.com lists. And my first degree was in Journalism from a major university with a reputation for its Journalism program. This is a fact, but it is not a point of bragging. Rather, it's a way of saying that we (I and others with even greater credentials) are far from the producers of "low-quality content." I am sure that Medium's comment is outrageously insulting to many writers. You would think they could have come up with a better excuse, and a quicker one at that.
One other point: I am not the only one to have experienced the over-and-beyond support and encouragement from Dr Yildiz who so freely gives of his time, effort, and expertise. If I never write for Medium again then at least I will come away with knowing that he is a person who truly cares about others and allows his life to be led by a strong sense of commitment and compassion for others. And that's worth something to me and others whom he has helped.
