This article is a poignant reminder of one of humanity's most shameful and dark acts. I often write about "the other," and genocide is the end product of twisted, conditioned minds that are unable to appreciate and realize that we all are the same fabric of life. I have studied the Jewish Holocaust for decades and, to a lesser extent, the Armenian Holocaust. The latter served as a model for the former and there are many similarities. To my knowledge, no one has really made any inroads into preventing these catastrophic events even as we understand the motives and precursors. They are much like a volcanic eruption occurring after many years, decades, or centuries of pressure building up beneath the surface. Who can save humanity from itself?
