Thank you for answering. I can now see what you are trying to convey. I have spent nearly 70 years looking into this and have come to the same conclusion about the self, but it's not a conclusion borne of the intellect, but rather something else.

Having said this, something lives on after death, but since this physical body is not dead I won't know what until I die. So, though I agree with you about the false sense of a self with a name, etc., I really don't know anything regarding whether something other than the self, or the self, shall "survive" death.
