It seems pretty obvious that the right wing Christian Nationalists behind these issues are immune to logic and compassion. It's about control borne of fear. They are afraid of women because they are afraid of losing their delusion of superiority and control. These sorts of issues — divorce, equality, independence, abortion, etc. — are prevalent wherever there is religious extremism.
