It is brave because it's annoying to always be met with derision for simply stating the facts, yet you spell out the facts anyway. I usually censor myself in regard to the topic of religion (not so much in my most recent response to you about being Jewish), because nothing worthwhile ever comes from trying to have a meaningful and logical discussion with religious people about the insanity of their beliefs and the institution they defend and support.

I find it almost humorous, however, to crown one religion in particular the rightful heir to the King of Annoying throne. And the word "annoying" is an understatement. All religions are annoying and it's a close race to the bottom. Religion is downright dangerous and destructive in the wrong hands; and the majority of hands belong to the kinds of people who blindly follow other people's ideas and invisible beings while carrying torches and pitchforks on the way to the homes of their next victims.

While you say that the judgment about religion, or a particular religion, is subjective, the body of facts are objective. And these facts can only be refuted with hopeless ideas, avoidance, and logical fallacies, but not with other facts.

There is one particular contradiction about religious people that amuses me (because I am way beyond being upset by it): Those very few who admit that their teachings are only myths and metaphors nevertheless perpetuate their religions and encourage others to join them. It takes a very conflicted mind to belong to a religious institution and engage in its silliness, because any sane person must reject some of the teachings outright in order to be the moral, loving person they take themselves to be.
