In the simplest terms, religion does not make sense. Everything said from this point forward is just a criticism.

You wrote: "You might think God has a secret plan to prevent the victory of “demons” that spread evil. God made the world perfect, according to the Abrahamic religions, but the devil subverted that project, introducing ungodliness into Creation, and forcing God to rectify the demonic sabotage."

In keeping with the theme of no-sense or nonsense, how can an all-powerful god allow any being to roam free and wreak havoc whenever and wherever it wants? More nonsense.

There is a very basic theme that can be gleaned from Christianity when taken as a myth, as I have stated. We would have to look at the story and the characters as metaphors and toss out all of the pseudohistorical nonsense and improbabilities, including that Jesus was an actual historical figure:

Jesus represents the self of human consciousness that contains and perpetuates all emotions, vices, and conflicts, etc. (sins).

The death of Jesus represents the death of the self.

The resurrection of Jesus represents the expression of universal (Christ) consciousness that becomes apparent when the self is out of the way.

The cross represents the tree of life.

God is consciousness.

It's a quick and easy myth that has been taken as a literal event and in so doing it has become an absurdity used in the creation of more absurdities, divisiveness, and violence. The literal interpretation of Christian teachings has become a weapon of mass destruction by lesser minds beset by fear and the lust for power.
