I have written many a satire on this same subject, but only in my mind.

The leaf blower is the lawn guy's version of the elevator "close door" button. It doesn't do anything. Before the leaf guy uses the machine there are clippings all over the ground. An hour later, when he is finished using the machine there are the same clippings all over the ground, but just in a different place.

What makes the leaf blower so bad, besides its noise and air pollution, is that it is also a dirt blower. It is also an ant blower, but few people are sensitive to the plight of ants in this era of Donald Trump.
