I do not assume we have free will, because there would need to be a self that is separate from the totality of consciousness in order to have free will. I can see the difficulty of realizing this point of neti, neti, if there is no free will. But it is a matter of attention, what we attend to and not really a personal act of the self. Consciousness is always attending to something somewhere at some point; there are 8 billion examples we can start with.
