I am not a religious person at all. In fact, I do not like what religion leads to, but I have to say that history shows that Jews are the most targeted people in history. People speak out of ignorance about Zionism because they have bought into Arab propaganda that has attacked that concept for many decades, making it a pejorative term. The Jewish people need to do what they need to do, which is to try to protect, defend, and perpetuate themselves. The majority of the world really wouldn't care if Jews were wiped off the face of the earth, so we cannot listen to all of the voices that are so blind to the actuality of living a life under threat of annihilation. Israel blossomed after the Holocaust and the nation was founded, at least in part, on the idea of "never again."
I do not condone senseless violence or the killing of innocents and neither do the Israelis in general. But with each war and attack I have witnessed in my lifetime — Six=Day War, Yom Kippur War, Entebbe, Munich Olympics, etc., I have also witnessed an outcry over the Jewish response and a call for cease fire the moment the Israelis gained an upper hand by driving back their attackers. The game is stacked against Israel, so Israel must do what is in its best interest first and then listen to the world second. In the meantime, the Arab world, driven by extremists who use innocent people as shields and weapons of propaganda, needs to stop the violence and find a way to peace.
In addition to all of this, few people in the West who are protesting Israel and Zionism realize that other nations, such as India, the US, andJapan are engaged in this daily conflict as they are battling Iran=backed Yemeni forces from helicopters and battleships. Do we find any outcry over these actions? I haven't heard any.
