Bhup, yours is the most intelligent answer I have ever received on social media.
I am not a mathematician; my mind does not work in such a way. Instead, my mind follows the direction of creativity of thought and art. (I do realize that science and math can be regarded as creative, and I applaud those who can see its beauty.)
It seems to me that if we get past all of that which occupies the mind in the way of thoughts, ideas, memories, and phenomena then we come to something universally irreducible, which is a silent stillness. This is what is most important in my estimation. All else is fodder for argumentation and distraction. I spent a lifetime trying to figure out why things are important to people and how they make us suffer, both individually and societally.
The search for truth seems to be a preoccupation for the few and not the many. And even among the few the sense of self, the ego, is the one and only obstruction, because if we cannot drop this we are only chasing our own tails — the self trying to correct, or escape from, itself.
Human beings have put themselves in a box, in a limited state of mind, whether in art or science. My goal is to have people (only those interested) test themselves and enquire into their own states of mind to end the suffering.
